There actually exists in a faraway place called Disco-ville, a disco tune I don't ever remember dancing to. A good friend mentioned today that this was his favourite so I had to look it up.
I assumed that I'd find it and realize that I just simply didn't remember the title. But nope. I've discovered a brand new (old) disco classic. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll just boogie along and mix me a few new steps.
Before I go, in Disco-ville, there's a two song rule so I've also included one of my favourites (although it's from the 90's) in memory of "The Barn".
Gosh, I'm a '70s music freak and I've never heard "I Love to Love". Has that breezy sound though. How about this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEXkMDxQC7I Check it out...one of the few Canadian disco divas.
ReplyDeleteAlso love most anything Taylor Dayne did.
Wow, don't remember the first one! It was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHey, Rural - Patsy Gallant! I almost forgot about "Are You Ready For Love" as I think of her more for the disco & anglicized version of Gilles Vigneault's "Mon Pays" ("From New York to L.A.")
ReplyDeleteThanks for the the re-introduction.
Rick, seems "my good friend" is the only one who remembers it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should post a "hidden disco hits" column?
Thanks for dropping by.
I remember Patsy Gallant foing from NY to LA --- and the super tacky video!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap I am getting older...
Funny you should mention that; just celebrated ANOTHER birthday this past weekend. Remembering Patsy all too well.
